i hope this is the right place for this topic. when i first started to read james patterson's books originally i was only going to read the alex cross series but then i read judge & jury and i decided i just had to read all of his books i could find.
My best friend reads James Patterson and would always tell me how great the books were. I decided one day that I would read one. I first read Beach Road and was amazed. I'm now onto my second Patterson book and really enjoy it. He has now gotten me hooked.
I had seen a couple of the films based on his novels and thought they were pretty good and a friend highly recommended him. I picked uo "Along came a spider" and the rest as they say is history.
I actually didn't discover James Patterson novels until I watched Kiss The Girls And Along Came A Spider. Did a little research on Patterson and the cross character and realized there were more novels. Starting reading them in order and then didn't stop there. Got into the Woman's Murder Club and all stand alone novels by Patterson. To date, I have read every Patterson novel except Season Of The Machete and Santa Kid. Currently reading Witch and Wizard.
I had seen Along came a spider and Kiss the girls and thought the movies were great movies. My wife told me that I ought to read the books. I didn't want to chance that the books weren't as good as the movie, so I put it off. This past July, I was in Chicago teaching a photography workshop and had some down time. Went to Walmart and saw "Cross" started reading it, it was slow in the beginning (as with the first 10 books with the exception of Cat and Mouse and London Bridges) but once it got good (around page 200) I couldn't put it down. I ended up starting with Along came a spider and actually am angry that they did the movie so poorly. Just finished London Bridges in four days, a record for me and reading a book.
I was in 4th grade and I was sitting in the back of the car while my mom was at the doctors and she had season of the machete . so I picked it up and haven't stopped since!!!
This past year I was mobilized in the US Marine Corps to go to Iraq. I was a bit homesick in North Carolina preparing to go overseas and I read somewhere that parts of the movie "Along Came A Spider" were filmed in Baltimore, my hometown, so I watched it and enjoyed it. Because I enjoyed the movie, I read the book and thought that was even better! In the past two and a half months I've read Along Came A Spider, Kiss the Girls, Jack and Jill, Cat and Mouse and currently on Pop Goes the Weasel. I also started Midnight Club while I was temporarily waiting to receive Pop Goes the Weasel in the mail in Iraq. I'm home now and looking forward to reading the rest of the series which is waiting for me on my bookshelf.
i was right there with you. i was Army Infantry and i was stationed at sauder city. thats where i came across the books. it was a good way to get your mind away from where you were
I started with the book Double Cross. My mom said: 'It's a very good book, you have to read it'. So I did it and I couldn't stop reading anymore. After I finished the book, I went looking for the first book of Alex Cross. But he wasn't in the Library... Then I saw 1st to die, from the Woman's Murder Club, so I thought Why not?
I started reading all of them, from 1st till 8th. Now I'm started with Alex Cross again.
It's very hard that I have to wait so long before the next book comes. I live in the Netherlands, so it takes a little bit longer...
I'm a writer myself, and James Patterson is a very big rolemodel for me. My 2nd book is coming soon!
My boyfriend is not a big reader, and when he told me he read a book that he really liked and thought I would enjoy I just had to see for myself. SOooo BIg Bad Wolf was the first Patterson Novel I ever read, and from there, in order or not I love them ALL!
