There's talk in Hollywood about a new Alex Cross movie.... I can't say much, but I can say that. Who do you think should play Alex? Jamie Foxx? Denzel? Someone we've never seen before? Did you like Morgan Freeman as Alex?
Agree that Morgan was great but too old and not "bulky" enough. I have always pictured a mix of Denzel and Will Smith as Alex. He has to be young and sexy.
I would like to see Dennis Haysert(not sure of the spelling)--the guy who played President Palmer on a season of 24. I think Morgan Freeman is passed the age to play Alex.
Okay I am a BIG Alex Cross fan first and foremost. Now I love myself some Denzel Washington I think he is one of the greatest actors of our time but he is not Alex Cross. As for Jamie Foxx, there just anyway he could pull a character like Alex Cross off and should not be considered at all. In my humble little opinion the actor who was made for this character is MORGAN FREEMAN!!!
Dennis Hesbert without a doubt - (The Unit, several Allstate commercials). Excellent actor & perfect for Alex Cross! Dwayne Johnson (aka "The Rock") to be John Sampson!
Shronda morgan freeman does not fit the description of alex cross on the jp website. He is not athletic and to me morgan is not attractive and in my imagination alex is. Morgan freeman should never have portrayed alex cross in the first place.
Carla, in the book along came a spider alex was romantically involved with the secret service agent in the movie can you honestly see morgan freeman and the female fbi agent being romantic?
THAT'S the problem.... in ANY of the books, when Alex is "getting it on", I can't get Morgan Freeman out of my head. Makes me want to skip the sex parts... ha ha..

I loved Morgan Freeman as Alex and I even envision him when I'm reading a Cross novel, although he's getting older you've gotta give to the man (he is in his 70's and still going strong)! I could also see Denzel as a good Alex Cross and why not bring someone back outta the woodwork, like Wesley Snipes to play Sampson. One thing I love about James Patterson is he developed this character as an African American and made him so real and believable. Being a black American, myself, you want to see more positive figures that you can relate to- not many other mystery authors, I've read, put black American heros as their main characters, unless they are black American themselves.
