I think he deserves to have that special place for Maria, but also to be happy now if he does find love. I say go for it!

I think Fort is right; it's just Alex's luck that she'll die. It's hard to imagine Alex really having a happy ending, isn't it?

But I do think it would be very interesting if he did marry! And then he could have a nagging wife along with a nagging NanaMama to be on his case all the time haha!

I think it would be good for Alex to remarry...
Noone could ever replace Maria...& NanaMama can't live forever(as much as we want her too)
But i don't think he will cut back on his workload till he finds Maria's killer as i get a sense that this is what drives him so hard...
As we have seen with his past relationships it's his biggest chink in his armour & the Killer (excuse the pun) of majority of the relationships he has had....

Nobody can REPLACE your first true love. But someone else can be your second true love. Alex is full of passion and a great love, now that Maria's case has been "closed" he can and will move on.

I like Brianna as a prospect but undoubtedly something will happen to prevent them from getting together. I agree that he does need someone because of Nana's age altho she really does seem ageless and is very wise.

I don't think anyone can really replace Maria. Clearly, she was one of a kind.. a real gem. It's something about Brianna that I don't like for Alex though. They just don't see to fit properly to me. I was so disappointed when things went so badly with little Alex's mother, Christine. I felt like she was the right match for Alex before she went NUTS! I liked Jamilla Hughes as well.. they were HOT together. I also liked how Jamilla was a such a strong woman but appreciated Alex as a strong man as well. But Alex needs a woman..no...a wife. And I pray it's not Brianna.

Now that I have read your post, Missy, I DO like Jamilla, but I don't think she is the one, either. I had high hopes for Christine, but the woman has issues to say the least. Maybe James will let some new lady stroll in and she will take Alex's breath away and the kids will love her. Of course, there has to be some mystery involved before he gets the girl.
